Born on a mountain. A problem became a solution.
We are outdoor enthusiasts.
When the mountain calls, we are already on the move, whether that's going on ski tours, long hikes or trail runs. Pure nature is our element.
Until one day, when new hiking boots thoroughly spoiled our ascent, leaving us with painful blisters on both heels. Immediate. The consequences? A ruined hiking season — even in our old, worn-in shoes, our heels were sore. Permanently.
The skin on our heels is sensitive and blisters keep appearing and bursting open with every step. Plasters don't stick for more than a few hours, and if you impatiently remove them, you're likely to take a piece of skin with them.
We tried everything: different plasters, different tapes, rest and patience. The worst thing is that these blister plasters stick for days — right up to the moment when you impatiently try to remove them yourself. Half your skin comes off with them. Open summer shoes the next day? Forget it.
So we decided: There must be another solution: something that protects before it hurts, doesn't stick, isn't annoying and is reusable — something that simply works.
That's how the first GRIZZLYSOX heel protector was created: we developed a product that prevents blisters before they form.
No glue. No disposable products. Made from specially processed neoprene that is only 1.8 mm thick, these socks are super flexible and can be worn directly on the skin under your normal socks. You hardly notice them.
Today, GRIZZLYSOX protect not only us, but also thousands of outdoor enthusiasts who prefer to keep moving.
Who's behind GRIZZLYSOX?
We are a small team of outdoor enthusiasts from the Austrian Alps.
We are mountain lovers, touring skiers and long-distance hikers. After countless stories of blister failure, we joined forces and pursued a simple idea: Protection that works before it hurts.
Tom: Material development and design. Powder lines in early winter.
Susi: Product development and storytelling. Sunrise at the summit with coffee from the mocha pot.
Markus: Logistics and support. Bikepacking across the Dolomites.
Eva: Product vision and community. 2-day trail runs with bivouac.
Together, we spend every spare minute tinkering with new solutions, testing prototypes on steep slopes, and celebrating every blister-free step you take. We promise you honest products, genuine passion and 100% commitment to your adventures.
